I’ve been pondering predestination.
I don’t like the idea and I freely admit it.
Something unique struck me today as I was working on a study of 2 Samuel 24, and 1 Chronicles 21. (David’s census and the punishment of Israel).
I was pondering the construct of time and what it means and I believe (perhaps incorrectly) that God opened up my mind so to speak regarding time and predestination. I know that may sound arrogant, but I don’t mean it that way, or in any mystical way really. I just don’t want to take credit for my thinking if God planted the idea…I hope that makes sense.
Read on if interested.

…you lived in a city surrounded by enemy soldiers and you knew it was only a matter of time?
…you watched the invaders storm through the broken gates and slaughter your friends?
…enemy soldiers rampaged your home and raped your wife and daughters?
…an enemy soldier grabbed your son and tortured him to death?
…an enemy soldier placed his sword at your throat and asked you if you were a Christian, or a Jew?
…you were placed into a concentration camp, starved and beaten?
…your friends, spouse, children were marched into gas chambers while you had to watch?
…you were forced to watch helpless children were beaten and raped?
…God didn’t answer your pleas for help in such a time?

Three men. One, a king anointed by God. The second, his son and heir. The third, a shepherd and the youngest of his father’s children. An epic story of kings and servants, anger and peace, parents and children, friends and enemies. And above all else, it is a story of love. The kind of real love that God hopes to see from all of us.
